At the studio with Max Berry, my producer, who also plays every kind of guitar he can get his hands on. He’s on a fretless bass, laying down some bass lines.
On the Road
Charlotte O’Hara, a singer/songwriter and a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, took her musical talents on the road Sunday evening Jan. 29.
She performed at the First Christian Church in Forsyth, Missouri.
A Creative Passion for Music
Welcome to my music page. What an adventure I have been on for the past three years with music. In that span of time I have written 70 songs, completed 2 CDs (“That’s Our Life” and “November”), currently working on my 3rd CD, “Where Time Touches Eternity”, and beginning to write for the 4th project, “Angels Unaware.”
I view each song as a gift from GOD to be able to express myself. I never dreamt that I could or would write music, although my mother did have at least one song published in the late 1930’s.
My journey into writing music began after I unsuccessfully challenged Annabeth Surbaugh as Johnson County Commission Chair. After the election, I decided to hone my very rusty piano and guitar skills, but especially piano, and began lessons with probably the best keyboard player in the Kansas City area, Denny Osburn.
Denny was the first to suggest that I would soon be writing music. I laughed at that ridiculous thought, but he was correct and soon I was on my way writing song after song after song. And what fun I have had in the process!
On November 13 we held a CD release party at the Westport Coffee House at 4010 Pennsylvania Ave., K.C., Mo. A video of the event is just to the left that includes two songs from the album.
My backup band was put together by Max Berry (my
producer) who does my music arrangements and plays every guitar known to man on my projects. He also plays with Ida McBeth at Jardine’s on weekly basis. What an honor to have the privilege to play with such talented musicians, who also (except one) play on the “November” CD.
